Azria’ Early Life

Max Azria was born in Sfax, Tunisia on January 01, 1949. He was the youngest child of his parents.  In 1962, his parents were migrated in Paris, France, where he completed his early as well as his fashion designing education in southeastern France.

Professional Career

At the first time in 1981 being a US citizen and living in California, Max Azria launched ‘Jess’ series of new model retail boutiques of women’s apparel. In the year of 1989 Azria introduced a fashion brand ‘BCBGMAXAZRIA’ the name was picked up by the French language which illustrates of ‘good style, good feelings’. Azria set his reputation amongst the customers by offering reasonable prices and smart looking, qualitative dresses for women. The ‘BCBGMAXAZRIA’ run way collections were sold substantially at the New York Fashion Week in 1996. After two years in 1998 because of his good fame he was introduced into the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA). Also this year Azria was remained successful to capture a French Fashion house ‘Herve Leger’ – a unique dress designing chain, which was made possible for the first time in the history of America.

In 2007 Azria re-launched the ‘Herve Leger’ under his own tag which was at once got tremendous popularity amongst the celebrities and introduced a new trend in throughout the world. In 2008 Azria initiated a stylish collection under the brand name of BCBGeneration for young people. 

In June 2009 Azria made a business line ‘Miley Cyrus and Max Azria’ for Walmart with the coordination of Miley Cyrus.

Azria also made two different qualitative design’s collections, ‘Max Azria Atelier’ and ‘Max Azria’. The first one collection was prepared for celebrity’s stylish clothing and for some exceptional events while the second one a ‘ready to wear collection’ based on directional and artistic designs.

The well known celebrities Sharon Stone, Halle Berry, Beyoonce Knowles, Jennifer Lopez, Katherine Zeta-Jones and Kate Winslet are included who wore Max Azria’s designed dressed at Red-Carpet occasions. Actress Anglelina Jolie wore Azria’s designed dresses at the occasion of 2009 Screen Actors Guild Awards and Critics Choice Awards.

Family Life

Azria has six children including Joyce Azria who was named as a creative director of BCBGeneration from 2009.

His wife Lubove Azria assisted her husband as a chief creative officer. She handles all foreign matters of the company including color schemes and designing choices for every season. That is the reason they have established a domain in Fashion World with the brand names ‘BCBG Max Azria’ ‘BCBGirls’ To the Max, BGBG Attitude, and Max Rave.
